Apologies that we do not have a direct solution for this issue. You must sign up for an account through Outlook. For example, are you able to navigate to other websites, such as Google. Outlook support to see if they have heard of the issue? If your problems persist, check your mail logs for additional errors, or records of your transmissions. Is it possible to have that same function in Outlook365. Cabn you offer any advice to how to solve this? Close outlook and my phone connects just fine. Here is a link to an article that explains the differences in more detail. Existing Outlook Data File: Select this option and then click Browse and locate the existing data file to save to. Complete the setup by using the correct server type and settings, click Next, and then click Finish. You also need to specify a data file in which to store the messages. New Outlook Data File: Select this option if you want to allow Outlook to create a data file just for the messages you receive from this account. On the View tab, select the option labeled Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives and then click OK. In the Deliver New Messages To area, specify a data file in which to store your messages. To do so in Windows 8, open any File Explorer window and, on the View tab, select the Hidden Items check box. Your IMAP account has been successfully configured, you need to change the account type, which is part of the manual settings you can adjust. The Choose Service screen of the Add Account dialog box appears. The POP and IMAP Account Settings screen of the Add Account dialog box appears, as shown in this figure. Log into your Gmail account and open the Settings page with gear icon. IMAP tab and make sure IMAP is enabled and click on save changes.
Then add your logon information as below.
And now you can check your emails through Outlook. Go to More settings and select the Outgoing server tab. Then, just above the Account Settings button, click Add Account. In the same window go to the Advanced tab and verify the following. Select Manual setup or additional server types.
